How Lovefold approaches your data and your safety. The app is still pre-launch, so the app sections below describe how we're designing it to work — our intent, not a guarantee of a finished product. The waitlist sections describe what happens today.
Our principle
Lovefold is built on a simple idea: your memories belong to the two of you. Your relationship isn't content, and it isn't ours to mine. That belief shapes both the app we're building and how we run this website.
The app: encrypted so only you two can open it
Lovefold is designed to be end-to-end encrypted. The memories you keep are meant to be locked so that only the two of you hold the key. That's the point of end-to-end encryption: even we can't see inside. These are the protections we're building toward for launch:
- Only you two hold the key. Your memories are encrypted so that we can't read them.
- You control every share. Nothing leaves your shared space unless you choose to share it.
- Delete it all, anytime. You can remove your memories whenever you want.
What the app will access, and why
To do its job, the app works with things like your location and your photos — the raw material of the moments you're keeping. It's designed so that this data is encrypted and readable only by you and your partner, not by us.
The waitlist today
Right now, the only thing running is this website and its email waitlist. When you join, we store your email address, a coarse country code, basic attribution data, and your browser's user agent. Unlike the app, this waitlist information is stored so we can operate the list, so it is not end-to-end encrypted. There are no tracking cookies, and we use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out bots. Your data, your control
You can ask us to delete your waitlist data at any time by emailing support@lovefold.app; we'll remove your entry and confirm. In the app, deleting your memories will be built in — delete it all, anytime.
Reporting a security concern
Found something that looks like a security issue? Please tell us at support@lovefold.app so we can look into it. We appreciate responsible disclosure and will respond promptly.

As the app gets closer to launch, we'll keep this page up to date and revise the "last updated" date above.
